Those cool crazy kids over at Mintd have got some serious expansion plans in the pipeline and they’re offering a whole heap of incentives for more people to get on board.
Firstly, they announced a $5 credit for members who post a Lookbook of purchased products. There is no limit to this promotion, but it’s only once for each product. This is a brilliant idea to get us all into the swing of Lookbooks. For those of you who don’t know, Lookbooks are something quite unique to Mintd. Basically it’s a facility to show off the products you sell and buy. People buy products. They take photos of themselves or their friends with these products, and upload them to the site. Other users can browse these lookbooks, and link to the products the stylist has used. If they subsequently buy the products, the user who submitted the lookbook gets a commission from the price.
If that wasn’t enough they’ve just overhauled their pricing structures. They’ve dropped the commission rates and increased the product numbers. I think this is a brilliant idea as it will definitely encourage more products on the site. And it’s also more user-friendly for those of us who create unique one-off product.
It’s pretty exciting watching the Mintd store expanding at such a tremendous rate. Can’t wait to see what the next evolution looks like!
