A new radical cross stitcher

Ladies and gentlemen I’d like to introduce you to a new face that will be hanging around here a bit. Hailing all the way from Sweden, please say hello to Cross Stitch Ninja!

CSN does really cool stuff like this one

The text translates to “put a flame under your rage, sister”. You go girl!

And this is her current work in progress

This is an excerpt from a photo taken at the latest G8 in Germany. Too much eh?

Thank you! I’ll keep embroidering and am so excited to be able to show my work here.

The picture that inspired the second embroidery is actually from the fight about “Ungdomshuset” (The Youth House) in Copenhagen, Denmark. I don’t know how well known the story is outside of Scandinavia, but the house had been used for political activism and noncommercial culture by anarchists and similar groups since the 80’s. A few years ago the municipality of Copenhagen sold it to a christian sect, which led to riots last winter and in march this year the house was torn down.

oo my bad! Yip I’d definitely heard of that one. Awesome to see people fighting to defend something rather than oppose. Bit more constructive really.

Great to have you on board :)
