Goodness time flies when you’re having fun. I moved into this site, thus becoming part of the goonanism mob in August. Today we hit 10,000 unique visitors! Hoorar!
This had quite a lot to do with the appearance of the super easy baby hat tutorial on the Sew, Mama, Sew! Handmade Holidays feature (hi everyone from there!). It’s by far the most popular post on this site and has a number of links to it around the interwebby. I’ve updated it a bit too so if you were holding back on making one, check it out and you might be more inspired. If you know any new babies this is a seriously easy one to make. And the recipient will think you’re really clever!
I’ve made a couple of things from the handmade holidays feature for christmas presents (sorry no pics until after the big day!). It’s a great resource for those of us who’ve signed the Pledge. And if you’re looking for another quick and easy one and you’ve been looking for an excuse to try cross stitch, check out my owl pattern.
As for me, I’ve been working on some kits to help get people started on the ol cross stitch. I’m trying to get some ready for a REALLY ACE MARKET coming up in a couple of weeks (stay tuned). I’ll be putting them online after that.
And I’ve not got round to mentioning it but I made a radical cross stitch zine. It’s called hoop-la and I’m quite stoked with it. I’m even planning a second issue if anyone wants to contribute. In the meantime as another way to get yous motivated, I’ll send a FREE copy to the first 5 people who email me a photo of their radical cross stitch and a wee story about it.
