		<description>my guess is that it&#039;s like you say - a little helper. i&#039;ve been tought that to get the best result, you should start counting the stitches from the middle of your pattern, so that the piece gets centered (is that a word?). then it&#039;s a good idea to mark the center (both vertical &amp; horizontal) with a thread in a different colour, so that you don&#039;t have to go back &amp; figure it out all over again when you&#039;re done with one part. does that make sense?</description>
