Real Dolls

Check out these groovy dolls being stitched by the clever Ms. Amy.

Nerd Core Stitchers of the world unite!

A while back I told you all about the HTML Patchwork Project, the brainchild of Ele Carpenter.
The great news is that now it’s done! Well, it’s opening in an exhibition next weekend so it must be pretty close. So for you lucky people in London, you can get along and check it out.
It’s part […]

Make Tea Not War

Check out this cool action from the Revolutionary Craft Womyn of Addington in solidarity of the ANZAC Ploughshares who gained access and casued serious damage to the Waihopai Spy Base in New Zealand. Waihopai is a key component of the global US spy system known as Echelon.

Here’s the report from Aotearoa Indymedia:
We all had […]

Post Oil Addiction Craft Completed!

Sorry I forgot to mention to you all that I’ve gone on this extreme road trip so I won’t be posting much on here. We left almost a week ago now and we’ve been driving from Melbourne to Uluru (2300km egad!). I’ve even been driving and those of you who know me will […]

Swinny Market

Thanks to the lovely Ms Cate there was a bit of a Craft Cartel appearance at Swinburn Prahran campus today. They were having a youth week celebration with an amazing souvlaki cook up, some hilarious sexual health awareness street theatre, some healthy food promotion, and our wee stalls.

I had a great time meeting students […]

Feminist Bookmark

International Women’s Day is always a special day for me because I like to spend the day reviewing the last year of my own life through a feminist lens. I also like to spend time remembering all of the women who have fought and died for the freedoms I now enjoy.
This year I spent […]

Trek Craft

I’m not a fan crafter. I would possibly like to be but I don’t think I’m obsessed enough about anything to want to make fan craft. Unless of course, if you count dead radical feminists…
But I have so much admiration for fan crafters ’cause they make such cool stuff. I reckon it […]

Knit, Poo

People who know me know I get really amused by poo. Don’t ask me why. I don’t find farts anywhere near as funny. I’ve even been known to cross stitch a poo or two.

So check how cool this is

Art Jam is #1!

In the weekend I went to the innaugural Art Jam at Section 8 Bar (yip, same place where we have the craft cartel markets). Art Jam is a giant DiY fest.

We provide the materials - you provide the creativity

It will be like the bastard love child of the Iron Chef & Melbourne’s fartsiest artsiest scenesters - a little bit freaky looking but nonetheless deserving of our unconditional love.

And there’s prizes!

Each week there’s a mystery object which needs to be included. This week it was a condom.

Work in progress

The new version of the “I sublimate my rage…” cross stitch is progressing. I’ve got a lot left to do, but here’s a sneak peek:
